Privacy policy

Your information, plainly.

What we collect when you join or write to us, where it's kept, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Summary

Botanical Greenhouse Honeybees ("we", "us", "our") is a free social casino website built to need as little information about you as possible:

  • To join, you give your first and last name, email address, UK phone number and a password, or you use Sign up with Google. These account details are stored securely on our own server so you can sign in from any device.
  • Your Honey Coins, membership and daily bonus are kept in your browser for the current session, not on our server.
  • We never ask for payment cards, bank details or other financial information. Nothing on the site can be bought.
  • We don't use advertising cookies or track you across other websites.

Information we use

Your account

When you join we store your first and last name, email address, UK phone number, a securely hashed version of your password (never the password itself), the date you joined and last signed in, and a count of failed sign-in attempts, which locks the account for 15 minutes after five wrong tries. If you use Google, Google sends us your name, email address and Google account ID instead of a password or phone number. Each account is kept as a protected file on our server; we don't use a database. We use these details to sign you in, greet you by name, confirm that you are 18 or over and in the UK, and reply to requests about your account.

Play

Your browser keeps your Honey Coin balance, your membership (Free Bee, Worker Bee, Garden Keeper or Queen Bee), whether you've collected today's daily bonus, a copy of your account details so the pages can greet you, and that you confirmed you're 18+. This stays on your device for the current browser session and is not sent to our server.

Messages

If you write to us through the contact page, the support centre or the "Take a pause" window, you share your name, email address, topic and message so we can reply — see "Messages" below.

How the site works with your information

Everything you submit through a form on this site — joining, signing in, Sign up with Google, and every message form — is sent to and processed by our own server, not handled inside your browser. The server checks your details, creates or opens your account, verifies a Google sign-in with Google, emails your messages to us, and then returns you to the page.

On our server we keep only your account details listed above, as a protected file that can't be opened from the web, for as long as you have an account. Nothing about your play is stored there.

In your browser the site keeps only the things that make play work on that device, listed under "Play" above. They are cleared when you close the browser.

Sign-in cookies and third parties

When you sign in, our server sets one strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in until you sign out or close your browser, and briefly uses a second one to hand your account details to your browser after a successful sign-in; that one is removed within two minutes. The site sets no other cookies — see our Cookie Policy. If you choose Google, Google handles that sign-in under its own privacy policy and gives us a signed token, which our server checks with Google before creating or opening your account. Our games load inside our pages from our own domain and use your Honey Coin balance; no other information is shared with them.

Messages

When you use a message form, your name, email address, topic and message (and, if you're signed in, your account name and email so we can find your account) are emailed from our server to [email protected], and a copy is kept in a protected log on our server so we can answer you and check that the message arrived. We use your message only to reply, and delete it from our mailbox and log once it's no longer needed to deal with your request.

Your control and your rights

  • Sign out from the account panel on any page to end your session on that browser.
  • Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete the account details we hold, or object to how they're used. Email [email protected] from the address you joined with, or choose "Close my account" in any message form, and we'll do it within a few days; deleting your account removes its file from our server. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
  • Your Honey Coins and membership live only in your browser session, so we can't see, restore or move them; closing the browser starts a fresh balance.

We protect your account with HTTPS, password hashing and server files that can't be opened from the web. If you think someone else has used your account, contact us straight away.

Children

Botanical Greenhouse Honeybees is for adults aged 18 and over who live in the United Kingdom. We ask you to confirm this when you enter the site and again when you join, and we'll delete any account we find belongs to someone younger.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time; the date above shows the current version. Questions? Email [email protected] or use our contact page.
